Took this around 10.30pm on my way to the MRT station after the Heritage/ Museum blog meet. Must be all the talk about Heritage and Museums and whatnot. Remembered I had a camera in the bag and snapped a shot.

Hey that’s a great pic…very surreal. Great!
Dear Sir,
I am currently working as an academic officer at the National Discovery Museum Institute (NDMI). Last year, we had got a good opportunity to visit your museum, it was a very great time for us. Unfortunately, at that time, some buildings were under the restauration, therefore I would like to know whether these buldings are already opened to all public.
Thank you in advance for your response.
Sincerely your
Hi Sarawan, I’m don’t work for the museum. But I know who does and have forwarded your question for them to reply to you. Cheers.
Hi sarawan, we’re pleased to inform you that the National Museum of Singapore will be officially opened in December 2006. More information is available on their official website at http://www.nationalmuseum.sg. Thanks for your interest and we’re pretty excited about its opening too! 🙂
I’ve only been here for a week, I envy your country. Back home (Philippines), our libraries and museums has already deteriorated, I’m so impressed with what you have here.
Thanks for the comment, Nold. I’ve forwarded it to some people who work in the National Heritage Board. I’m sure they’d appreciate your comment. Cheers.
Also, could a foreigner visit Singapore National Library? I’m sure that the library have ‘Filipiniana’ collection, any possibility that I could see them while here?
Hi Nold, yes you can. The National Library is open to walk-in visitors of any nationality. I don’t know of any specific Filipiana collection though.
