JUST I CAN SAY THAT HE IS THE BEST....I REALLY FELL IN LOVE WHIT JOE SINCE I HEARD HIS POWER IN ROCK MUSIC WORL.
OF COURSE HE IS MY FAVOURIT ELECTRIC GUITAR PLAYER.
AS ONE IRANIAN I PROUD OF HIM. AND ALWAYS IN MY DREAM I SEE MYSELF NEAR JOE.
KEEP YOUR FINGER CROSS,SO THAT ONE DAY I'LL BE ABLE TO SEE HIM AS CLOSE AS POSSIBLE.
I'M 18...AND WISH A GOOD LIFE FOR YOU!!!

Yeah me too, after watching his dvd concert Live in San Francisco, i also got hooked to Joe Satriani. So i got hold of all his albums and also was impressed by the simple chord progressions underneath his songs and how he would play around them. Especially Super Colossal album which is quite impressively simple u said it.
Found this site trying to look for chord progressions i can load into my drum machine to improvise. Hoping to be as melodic as him and not sound mechanical.

[...] Why “Ray of Light”? I wanted a title that signified hope. For this track, I drew inspiration from a track titled “A Love Eternal” from Joe Satriani’s “Super Colossal“. I wanted to try composing something with that kind of emotive feel (keyword is TRY!). I noticed the underlying percussion beat was a Shaker. [...]
